This Specialized Stumpjumper Evo belongs to Steve, our Shelf Filling Manager. Steve's last bike was a carbon Specialized Enduro which he traded for the Stumpjumper Evo because it is a little more versatile. The Stumpjumper still offers an aggressive and confiding downhill experience, but it’s a tad more versatile and playful than the Enduro when in undulating or less-steep terrain. Steve might have traded in an expensive carbon frame for a more affordable and heavier aluminum frame, but he certainly didn’t skimp on the components. This thing is covered in high-end components including Cascade Racing Designs carbon Apex rims built up with Hope Pro 4 hubs, carbon OneUp handlebars, and carbon Truvativ Descendent cranks. SRAM’s wireless AXS systems are responsible for drivetrain (XO1) and dropper post (Reverb) and RockShox takes care of suspension with a Lyrik Ultimate fork and Super Deluxe Coil rear shock. It's one sweet build to say the least with a sleek and stealthy color scheme to boot! After moving to the PNW in the summer of 2021, I'm really loving the steep, loamy, and rooty terrain that Bellingham has to offer. Jumps are growing on me, but still not really my thing. Historically, my bike of choice is a mid-travel 29'er, but the steeper, faster terrain in this area has me curious about a longer-travel mullet bike.
